Selecting an assistant

Selecting the best assistant for your task can come down to a range of factors and the cheapest assistant may not always be the best one to go with. Depending on your task we recommend you consider the following factors before selecting an assistant:

Feedback Rating - Does the assistant have a good feedback rating and what have other members said about the assistant? Have they had any negative feedback and if they have how professionally did they respond to that feedback?

Experience - Have they been able to demonstrate previous experience doing the task you have listed? Typically you would expect the assistant to highlight their experience on their bid or direct you to their business profile detailing why they are suited for your task

Availability - How does their availability fit with your schedule? You can always message the assistant and organise this before making your decision if their initial indication on their bid doesn't fit with you.

Communication Style - Does their bid proposal sound professional? Have they taken the time to check their bid proposal for grammar and spelling? Have they provided you with the necessary information to make an informed decision? You can always ask for more information via a private message.

Price - We use the word bid when describing the estimates provided by assistants on your task but this doesn't mean you need to accept the cheapest bid, although price will certainly be a major factor for most people. If you're in doubt whether an assistant is suitable you can consider asking them to  provide examples of their work or completing part of the task until you are confident they can deliver as stated.

Some assistants may be able to price very competitively because they are located close to you, just starting out such as students, can complete the task remotely or simply love doing the type of task you require.

Other checks:

There are a number of additional checks you can carry out, these will be made easier if the assistant has filled out their business profile.

arrow icon How long have they been in business - An assistant may be new to the Too Easy community and may not yet have a feedback rating however they may have considerable experience performing the work you require so you would expect them to state this on their bid proposal and in their business profile.
arrow icon Registered business - Their business profile provides a section to see if they are a registered business with a ABN or GST number.
arrow icon Certifications or licenses - Whether they have any additional certifications or licenses
arrow icon Samples of work - We will be adding the ability for assistants to create business portfolios to showcase there previous work shortly.
arrow icon Level of expertise - You want to be sure that the assistant has experience with your specific task.
arrow icon Guarantee? - Does the assistant offer a guarantee on work performed. If they do be be sure that those guarantees are in writing.
arrow icon Interview - Before selecting an assistant ask if you can call them on the phone for a interview. If they live nearby they may even be happy to meet in person.
arrow icon Payment methods - Does the assistant's methods of payment work for you?
