Placing bids is free and only available to registered members. You can place a bid by clicking the green Place Bid button on the Browse Tasks page or clicking the Bid on this Task button on the task details page.

Before deciding on a price for your bid you need to check on how the task owner has requested the bid to be priced. This will be displayed in red on the bid screen and will be one of the following options:

	Price for completed task (does not calculate the total based on estimated effort)
	Price per hour
	Price per day
	Price per week
	Price per fortnight
	Price per month

All the bids types except Price for completed task will use the estimated effort field to calculate the total.

Example 1 - Per hour: The task owner has asked for a price per hour. You charge $20 per hour and estimate the task will take 3 hours. You enter $20 into the Bid Amount and select 3 hours for the Estimated Effort. The total will automatically be calculated at $60.

Example 2 - For completed task: The task owner has asked for a price for the completed task.  You estimate the task will take 3 hours and will be happy to do this for $60. You enter $60 into the Bid Amount and select 3 hours for the Estimated Effort. The total will automatically be calculated at $60 based on the bid amount.

Example 3 - Per Week: The task owner has asked for a price per week.  You estimate the task will take 2 weeks and will be happy to do this for $100 per week. You enter $100 into the Bid Amount and select 2 weeks for the Estimated Effort. The total will automatically be calculated at $200.

Inserting a catchy headline is optional and currently free. You can also attach files or photo's to the bid proposal.

Once your ready to submit your bid click Preview & Review Bid. Your bid has not been sent at this point, on step 2 you need to click Post Bid before the bid is saved and the task owner notified via email. Alternatively you can save the bid as a draft is you're not ready to submit. Bids can be manged from the Bids I've Placed tab.
