1. Select your task category 

Posting a task is easy, first you need to assign it to a category. Hover over the side menu until you see a category that best suits your task and click it. You'll then be able to fill out your task details shown in the next step. 

If you don't see a category that suits your task, click the "Suggest Category" button and we'll let you know once we've added it.

2. Creating your task

After selecting your task category you need to provide a title and description for your task. You have a range of options to customise your task such as specifying where assistants must live and the bid type you require (price per hour, price per day, price for the completed task etc).

You can also control where bidders must be located, upload a photo of your task, invite people to bid plus a range of other options.

5. Selecting an Assistant

"My Dashboard" allows you to see all the tasks you need done and even provides a To-Do list so you're always aware of the next step.

Clicking the select assistant link below will redirect you to the view task screen enabling you to select the assistant which best suits your task.

Assistants are notified by email and need to accept the task before they commence work. Your name and email will be provided to the assistant at this stage. Once the task has been accepted the assistant will also be able to contact you using the private messaging feature (see the assistant tour for more information on this)

6. Place feedback on the assistant

It's fast and easy to place feedback on assistants once the task is complete. Placing honest feedback will help other people when they come to select an assistant, just as their feedback may help you select your next assistant.

Setting the overall feedback at the bottom will either increase or decrease the assistants feedback rating or make no change if the feedback is neutral.

E.g Sam (2) means Sam has received at least 2 positive feedbacks.

Don't forget the assistant will also be placing feedback on you!

1. Find your next job by location, category or searching

The browse tasks screen displays tasks for either Australia or New Zealand by default, depending on the location you enter when registering.

You can limit tasks by selecting a region on the top right or filtering by post code and category located in the left panel.

After filtering or searching you can save the seach as an alert (see the red boxes below). Saving an alert will notify you via email when new tasks are created that match your criteria e.g. "Within 10 kms of Ascot for the category - Household". The My Saved Searches link allows you to run your previously saved searches anytime (the second red box below).

You can bid on tasks directly from this screen or you can view the task detail to find out more about the task explained in step 2.

Clicking the task title or image on the Browse Tasks screen will display the full task details shown below.

From this screen you can read more about the task owner, location, description, photos, payment methods, required bid type and current bids (provided the task owner has not enabled blind bidding).

You can add the task to your watch-list and receive notifications if a lower or higher bid is placed. The Q & A section allows you to ask the task owner questions before bidding on the task.

2. Bidding on tasks

Placing a bid is easy but you should pay special attention to the bid type requested by the task owner as this will impact how much you bid. For example "Price for completed task" means you are agreeing to charge one price for the entire task regardless of the time it takes, as opposed to "Per Hour" shown below.

As you can see in the example below, a "Per Hour" bid will calculate the total based on the estimated effort field, where as a bid type of "Price for completed task" would ignore this field.

Uploading a photo of yourself or logo is recommended and increases the professionalism of your bid. Additional documents can be uploaded if you think this will assist to showcase your capabilities.

It's important to remember the task owner doesn't need to accept the cheapest bid and will most likely base their selection on a number of factors such as price, feedback, communication style, location, availability and experience to name a few.

4. Accepting a task

The winning bidder will be notified by email. The assistant must login to their dashboard and accept the task before it will be awarded and the task moved to the work phase.

The task owner has the option to withdraw the offer if the task isn't accepted or declined in an acceptable time frame, enabling other bidders the opportunity to be awarded the task.

6. Placing feedback on the task owner

Once the assistant completes the task they have the option to place feedback on the task owner which impacts the task owner's feedback rating.

Placing feedback is easy and a good way to let the task owner know what worked and what didn't. Fair and honest feedback will assist both users and the wider too easy community.

Assistants and Task Owners have the option to respond (only once) to feedback placed about them.
