Searching for Tasks

There are five ways to search and filter tasks - by location, keyword, task ID, postcode and category. Searches can also be saved as email alerts.

Using the task search (From any page)

There is a search box at the top of every page which performs 3 types of searches:

  1. By Keyword - The task title and description will be searched for any keywords you enter
  2. By Postcode - Entering a postcode will display all tasks within that postcode. Only postcodes in your country will be searched by default. You can change your country on the My Profile Page.
  3. By Task ID - If you know the specific task id you can go directly to that task by entering ID:XXX and hitting enter. Where XXX is your task ID located under the Bid Information section on the task details page.

Limit tasks by Location (Browse Tasks Page )

At the top of the Browse Tasks page the country and region selector allows you to filter tasks by country and state/region. When filtering by location in New Zealand you can also select a suburb. The default country is determined by the country you have set in your profile.

Filtering Tasks (Browse Tasks Page )

  1. On the side of the Browse Tasks page you can specify a kilometre radius search of tasks within a given postcode E.g. Within 10kms of Paddington.
  2. In addition if you check the Filter by Category option you can also limits tasks displayed by any top level category. E.g. Within 10kms of Bulimba for categories household and automotive.

Search Tasks (Browse Tasks Page )

The search tasks option on the browse tasks page can be used for keyword searches only. Saved searches will display in a drop down menu underneath this search box indicated by a favourites star. You can run any of your saved searches just by clicking on them.

Saving Searches

Any search you perform can be saved as an alert by clicking the "Save Search as an Alert" link which displays after you perform a search and is located in the top search summary panel. The Watchlist & Alerts section provides more information on saving searches and creating email alerts.
