Managing bids on your task

Only registered members can place bids.  You will be notified via email when a bid is placed which will include a link directly to your task detail screen where you can view all bids. By default the bid details are minimised enabling you to easily compare prices on multiple bids.

To view the details of any bid click on "Show Bid Details " or alternatively you can click "Expand All Bid Details " link. Once expanded you can accept or decline the bid using the buttons underneath the bid details.

Accepting an assistants bid will generate an email to the assistant asking them to confirm they are willing to complete the task at which point you will be notified via email and the work can begin.

Declining a bid will move the bid to the Declined Bids tab and notify the assistant. At this point the assistant may decide to refine their bid and re-submit, providing you the opportunity to reconsider selecting the assistant. You can still award the task to declined bidders at a latter stage if you change your mind.

As soon as you award a bid the assistant's name will display on your Tasks I Need Done page where you can click the email icon to communicate via private messages. You can also withdraw the offer if the assistant does not accept within a reasonable time frame.

You can only award the bid to one assistant. You can award bids at any stage and do not need to wait until the task closing date you originally set. You are under no obligation to award the task any of the assistants, if there are none that you feel are suitable.

If you hover your mouse over the Within kms field you will see which suburb the assistant lives in.

The estimated time field is the assistant's estimation on how long the task will take to complete. If you specify you only want prices for the completed tasks then any changes to this time when the task is actioned should not impact how much you pay. However all other bids types will be impacted by how long the assistant has estimated. For this reason it's important to clearly explain what the task involves or ask additional questions after receiving a bid so you are confident the assistant understands what is required.
