You can contact task owners via the task message board before placing your bid, your question will not display unless answered. Task owners can also delete your question if they deem it inappropriate. 

Once your bid has been accepted you can use the private messaging to contact the task owner directly. The moment you place a bid the task owner can contact you directly using private messages at which point you can respond.

If you are awarded the task you will receive the task owners contact details by email.

Once you have been awarded the task you will see an email icon next to the task owners name on the Bid's I've Placed page.
